Kansas Democrats "Adopt" Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower? |
The Kansas Democratic Party sent a mailing to voters in Kansas House District 16 on behalf of their State Rep candidate, Gene Rardin. The back side of the flyer shows Democrat Gubernatorial candidate Kathleen Sebelius, but what is Kansas Republican icon, President Dwight David Eisenhower, doing on a political mailing from the Democratic Party? Isn't this a subtle, sneaky trick by the Kansas Democrats? |

| The web site for the Kansas Republican Party proudly shows "I Like Ike" buttons, and buttons of Senators Dole and Kassebaum: |
| Do Kansas Democrats show any "I Like Ike" buttons, or anything about Republican President Eisenhower on their web site? If Ike isn't on their web site, why is he on the Democrat political mailings? |
With incumbent Republican State Rep Jim Yonally losing his primary race to newcomer Dennis Kriegshauser, perhaps the Democrats sense a possible Republican weakness in that district. But Rardin has very little money. His July contribution report shows $10,750 in the bank, BUT $10,000 of that is money he loaned himself. Rardin only received three contributions: $250 from the Democrat-loving Kansas National Education Assoc. PAC, $50 from Shila Hartney, who was the Democrat House District 16 candidate in 2004, and $200 from Geoffrey Newman, a $1250 Howard Dean contributor, and a Republican for Moore in 2002. Since Hartney and Newman are registered to vote at the same address, ONLY ONE HOUSEHOLD in State Rep District 16 is supporting Rardin with money! So with little money, what's a candidate to do except to have the State Party help? Wasn't this mailing intended to plug Sebelius as much as Rardin? Kansas Democrats through their "Coordinated Campaign" are quite effective in coordinating their political mailings. Gene Rardin is running so hard for State Rep 16 that he doesn't even have his own sign in his front yard now -- he had Kerry for President and Dennis Moore for Congress signs in his yard in past years, but doesn't have any signs in his yard now when he's running for office? Gene Rardin is 1 of 84 in the Overland Park area interested in Impeach Bush Meetups: http://impeachbush.meetup.com/cities/us/ks/overland_park/ Some people may have issues with Bush over the war, but is Rardin out-of-step with most Kansans in calling for the impeachment of President Bush? Do we want this pro-impeachment Democrat in the Kansas House? Rardin is the District 8 representative to the Johnson County Democratic Party. Rardin supported Howard Dean for DNC Chair. Rardin received endorsements of far-left liberal groups: Why are Kansas Democrats using Republican President Dwight Eisenhower in their political mailings? Why don't Kansas Democrats use Democrat leaders, like Bill Clinton, Howard Dean, or Ted Kennedy in their mailings, instead of a Republican? Oct 14, 2006 Postcript:
