Candidate Lynn Jenkins
Kansas-02

Kansas State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins is one of the more promising newcomers to step forward and announce her plan to run for the U.S. House next year. This seat is an important pick-up opportunity for the GOP, and Jenkins is an impressive contender. The WISH List urges you to help her win!

Wikipedia explains that “WISH” stands for “Women in the Senate and House” and is considered a counterpart to Emily’s list, a group that supports pro-abortion Democratic women, and the Susan B. Anthony List, a group that elects pro-life women.

The Federal Election Commission’s recent report shows four WISH contributors to Jenkins on her FEC report as “Earmarked thru The WISH List”. See all Jenkins’ FEC reports here.

Jenkins’ opponent, former Congressman Jim Ryun, a pro-life candidate, recently received the endorsement of the Family Research Council in his bid to win back the seat currently held by Democrat Nancy Boyda. The FRC web site says:

“When looking at his opponent in both the primary and the general elections, it is very clear that Jim Ryun is a true friend of the family,” said David Nammo, Executive Director of FRC Action. “Additionally, he won the FRC Action True Blue Award five consecutive times while in Congress.”

While in Congress, Jim Ryun co-sponsored the Marriage Protection Act, the Right to Life Act, the Human Cloning Prohibition Act, the Religious Freedom Amendment, the Make Marriage Tax Relief Permanent Act and the Death Tax Repeal Permanency Act.

Ryun’s recent report shows “earmarked” contributions from Concerned Women for America PAC. See all Ryun’s FEC reports here. Wikipedia explains that CWA is a conservative Christian political action group.

Jenkins and Ryun meet in the primary election on Tuesday, Aug 5.

  1. What is the purpose of the story? To make her look bad because she has a relationship with WISH? I notice that none of story bash the Repubilcans, what is it “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” when it comes to GOP? Very lame, Yellow journalism is alive on Kansas Meadowlark!

  2. sasnak: What part of the story bashes anyone?

The article discusses “earmarked” contributions to both Jenkins and Ryun, with links to their current FEC reports, and links to a list of all their FEC reports. There’s even a link to WISH so you can contribute to Jenkins if you were so inclined.

What part of the story is inaccurate? I do not use the vocabulary of the left, so that makes an article “yellow journalism”?

Why are you not concerned about the bias or misrepresentation by the mainstream press, but you’re worried about it here? I’m “wrong” because I use a center-right vocabulary, and show some balance to the left-leaning mainstream press? Why are you afraid of the truth being known? You have no tolerance for others’ views?
