Dr. George Tiller, Gov. Kathleen SebeliusAn April 11 Meadowlark article gave details about how Gov. Sebelius’ response to Senator Kyl was wrong by $26,000, which was later explained to the world by the AP.  The answer Gov. Sebelius needed for Senator Kyl was in a March 27 Catholic newspaper, which was delivered to many Catholics in Kansas, and possibly Gov. Sebelius herself.  The Catholic Leaven newspaper had a political money scoop on the rest of the press!

In a response dated April 2 to a question from U.S. Senator Jon Kyl, Gov. Sebelius said she had received only $12,450 in political money from Dr. George Tiller.  The figure should have been $15,450 with an additional $23,000 from the ProKanDo PAC.  Gov. Sebelius’ response to Senator Kyl should have been $38,450 instead of $12,450.

A March 28 Meadowlark article, Catholic Archdiocesan newspaper publishes several articles to expose Tiller and Sebelius, told about several articles published in The Leaven newspaper and distributed on March 27 to Catholics in the Kansas City, KS archdiocese — a 21 county area in northeast Kansas.  The Leaven is delivered to about 53,000 homes, which is about 75% of Catholic homes.

It’s not known whether Gov. Sebelius received or read the March 27 Leaven newspaper, but if she had, the answer she needed for Senator Kyl was printed right there for her on page 4!

For instance, between 1994 and 2001 Tiller, his wife, his clinic, and an earlier PAC of his gave more than $15,000 to Sebelius. Between 2000 and 2002, Tiller and his clinic gave $23,000 to Sebelius’ Blue StemFund PAC.

The connection between Sebelius response to Senator Kyl and the information published in the Leaven was first made public today in a press release yesterday by Kansans for Life.

Several Internet sources in recent days talked about a letter in which Dr. Tiller claimed he had given $200,000 to support Kathleen Sebelius for Governor in 2002.  This letter was published in a Meadowlark article on March 2, Archbishop James Patrick Keleher’s request to Gov.-Elect Kathleen Sebelius, and is slide 20 in the PowerPoint published as part of the March 3 article, Summary of Gov. Sebelius, Dr. George Tiller, ProKanDo PAC information.  The summary slide 18 for 2002 explained the $200,000 had been a bit of a “bait and switch” where Dr. Tiller raised money using Kathleen Sebelius’ name, but then according to campaign records, used that money against Phill Kline for Attorney General instead of for Kathleen Sebelius for Governor.

The first Sebelius’ confirmation vote for HHS Secretary is scheduled for today, when the Senate Finance Committee votes on her nomination.  If approved, the whole Senate will later vote on her nomination.
