On this Memorial Day, which is Monday, we should remember the brave patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice to help keep our country free.
From the Arlington National Cemetery brochure, “Our National Cemetery:”
Our National Cemetery is
- a place of honor
- a place of valor
- a place of remembrance.
Arlington National Cemetery is the best known of over one hundred national cemeteries in the United States. Its 624 acres shelter the remains of over 320,000 servicemen and women, veterans from every war and major conflict in United State history. This is our nation’s most sacred military shine and bears silent witness to the whole of American history.
Fred Rendon Jr. at the Houston Veterans Affairs Examiner said this about Memorial Day:
This is one day that we should all stop and give thanks to God who has blessed our country with everything we have. We hear and see the phrase Freedom is not free bumper stickers which announce Freedom is not free, well ladies and gentleman that is an absolutely true statement. Many Veterans return with missing limbs which are obvious and others with emotional problems where a prosthetic will not help. This Memorial Day why not take an extra few minutes and attend a service where ever there may be one, say an extra prayer for a Gold Star Mothers (mothers who have lost a child to a war) and remember who paid for this freedom we enjoy.

Excellent post. It’s nice to see original photos instead of stock shots from Google Images. Keep up the good work.
