Kansas Democrats to spend another $22,000 to take out Democrat incumbent Senator Gilstrap

Democratic Party Donkey New this year in Kansas elections are the pre-primary late contributions and independent expenditure reports. Yesterday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee reported a $25,000 contribution from the KCMO Carpenter’s District Council, possibly to cover the expense they reported a few days earlier to spend another $22,000 for “Kultala/Gilstrap Primary Democratic Voter ID and GOTV Program.” Kansas Democrats really, really, really, don’t like incumbent Democrat Senator Mark Gilstrap and really, really, really, want to elect Kelly Kultala. Kansas Democratic Party’s “Loyalty Committee”

Sebelius pushing Kultala for State Senate Kansas Democrats in July 2007 mocked Kansas Republicans for forming a “Loyalty Committee.” The KDP claimed then “Kansans are tired of having their political beliefs questioned,” and then invited the disillusioned to join the Kansas Democratic Party.

The Kansas press had a field day making fun of Republicans over party loyalty, while ignoring long-term Democratic facades such as the “Republicans for Moore” in the Third Congressional District.

But what do Kansas Democrats do when they face a loyalty problem? Democrats don’t bother with a loyalty oath or loyalty committee. Democrats attempt to “take out” any offenders at the polls. So much for “Kansans are tired of having their political beliefs questioned”?
